FAQ
Questions founders ask us
Straight answers on eligibility, amounts, credit checks and what happens after you enquire.
Enquiring
Does enquiring affect my credit score?
No. There's no credit check when you enquire. A credit check only comes up once you've chosen to go ahead with a specific option.
Will my details be sent to lots of lenders?
No. A real person reads your enquiry and matches it to an option that suits. We don't send your details to a crowd of lenders to see who bites.
How long does the enquiry take?
About 60 seconds. You'll be asked what you need, what it's for, how long you've traded, your revenue and whether you own property.
Why does accuracy on the form matter so much?
Because the right option depends on the details. Accurate answers on revenue, time trading and property mean we can suggest something that fits on the first call.
Eligibility
How long do I need to have been trading?
There's no single rule. Unsecured options generally need a run of business bank statements, and more history opens more doors. Founders who own property with equity may access a property-secured loan much earlier.
Can I get funding with under six months of trading?
Unsecured funding is usually difficult that early. A property-secured business loan from $20,000 may be possible if you own property. Otherwise, building a few more months of clean statements usually helps.
Can a side hustle get business funding?
Yes, once it trades as a business: an ABN, its own bank account and a run of steady revenue. Funding is assessed on the business's trading, not your salary.
What if I have bad credit or an ATO debt?
Past credit issues and ATO debt are considered case by case. Please mention them on the form; it helps us steer you to an option that can realistically work.
Do I need to own property?
No. Unsecured and line-of-credit options are sized on turnover and bank statements. Property simply opens a second option for larger amounts or newer businesses.
Loans and amounts
How much can I borrow?
Across our options the range is $5,000 to $5,000,000. Unsecured and line-of-credit facilities typically run from $5,000 to $500,000, and property-secured business loans from $20,000 to $5,000,000.
What can the money be used for?
Business purposes: stock and inventory, ad spend and marketing, equipment, first hires, supplier deposits, fit-outs, fulfilment, tax bills and working capital. We don't arrange personal or household credit.
Can I borrow for Facebook, Google or TikTok ads?
Yes, as a business purpose. The better question is whether new customers repay their acquisition cost in a reasonable time. The ad-spend payback calculator shows you.
Do you publish interest rates?
No. Every facility is priced on the individual business, so a published rate wouldn't tell you much. You'll get a real figure for your situation, and you can test it in the payback calculator as a dollar cost.
Is a line of credit or a loan better?
A line of credit suits recurring needs like reorders and ad spend. A term loan suits a single, known purchase. We'll explain which fits the job.
After you enquire
What happens after I submit the form?
A real person reads it and calls you, usually to fill in a few gaps. Then we explain what's realistic, including if the honest answer is 'not yet'.
What documents will I need?
Only if you go ahead: typically recent business bank statements, ID and ABN details, plus property details for a secured loan.
Am I committed to anything by enquiring?
No. An enquiry is just a conversation. Nothing happens without your agreement.
